Project 1955 Crown Victoria - Before and After

How low can you go . . . The AirRide is installed, and the Crown Vic is sporting a very different look. Check out the rest of the pics to see how this car being transformed. Vince . . .  click on the left picture to enlarge it . . .  Stan

Firewall Fabrication - Once the motor was removed, you can see what the firewall looked like in the left photo. All of the original wiring was removed before this picture was taken. The hand fabricated firewall on the right provides plenty of room for the power plant. The only thing that will be attached to this firewall are the Vintage Air A/C bulkhead and the power brakes.

Floor Pans, Tunnel and Body Supports - As with any project of this age, you are more than likely going to find some problems. This car was no exception. The photo on the left shows some of the areas that needed some attention. The photo on the right is after the inner rockers, body supports and mounts, pans and tunnel were hand fabricated and replaced.

Front Suspension - The photo on the left shows the original drum brakes, coil springs and shocks. The photo on the right shows the new front end after adding new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, Jamco front disc conversion and AirRide to replace the coils.

The motor and trans fit nicely under the hood. Zirgo stainless radiator hoses were added in addition to some dressup items to help brighten up the engine compartment.

Interior - The dash underwent some major changes as you can see by the picture on the right. What you can't see is the Vintage Air that keeps this car cool and the AM/FM/CD player the lifts up from the old speaker grille.
